7.1. “Teteriv – My Home”

Lyrics by: Fryniuk Iryna Viacheslavivna (translated from Ukrainian)

Where the rails meet the mist,
And the dawn awakens the ancient forest,
There are my roots, there is my memory,
There is my first step and my first meaning.

The river whispers forgotten names,
The pines remember every trace,
Teteriv is not just a mark on the route,
Teteriv lives within me forever.

Wherever I may be - all roads know,
The heart will find the way back home.
The world changes, the years go by -
But my soul leads me here.

Teteriv is my home, my foundation,
My truth, my memory and my love.
And its history cannot be erased by words,
It will live in my veins again and again.

Here the station has seen many fates -
It has seen joy, it has seen sorrow of the soul.
Here people lived, loved, and worked,
Building the future in silence.

Our memories do not fade in the heart -
No matter how someone may wish.
For without memory there is no God,
And without a name there are no lands.

Wherever I may be - all roads know,
The heart will find the way back home.
The world changes, the years go by -
But my soul leads me here.

Teteriv is my home, my foundation,
My truth, my memory and my love.
And its history cannot be erased by words,
It will live in my veins again and again.

The essence is not in orders nor in seals,
Not in papers lies the true meaning and home.
It is in voices, in bright dates,
In who we are and how we stand.

Teteriv is not only the past.
It is my breath, my path, my purpose.
I always rejoice, because I know:
Home is where memory is still alive.
